A self professed "Handy-Girl", I was raised just on the outskirts of Detroit. Growing up, we didn't have much. We were always just trying to keep our heads above water. When something was worn, it got repaired and reused, unlike todays standard where if somethings broken it simply gets tossed to the curb. I  grew up understanding the value of a dollar and just how to make them stretch. I watched my parents hustle everyday and it's that determination which has inspired my insane work ethic today. I saw what hard work can accomplish and I appreciate every moment of my upbringing because I'm not ashamed to get my hands dirty, nor do I let the fact that I'm a woman interfere with my ambition.  I come from a long line of craftsmen, woodworkers, contractors, and all around hard workers. My educational background is in Business, Drafting and Design. That combined with a breif visit into the world of lighting design has given me all the confidence to step out there and begin creating one of a kind pieces on my own. I am drawn to color and am not afraid to use it! I love to restore antiques to their original glory or bring a more modern/contemporary look to unloved pieces. Not only does it warm my heart to know these items will get a second chance at "life" but the fact that these pieces pack so much history. Too much to be tossed in an unending pile of trash. They were once hand-picked and now with my skills and meticulous attention to detail, they will be once again!
